Itinerary

Day 1 -Marina Alimos

Our Cyclades itinerary starts in Athens, at Alimos Marina. Alimos Marina is one of the largest harbors in Greece and is the perfect place to arrive at your sailboat and rest before starting your Cyclades Sailing Itinerary. The marina is located close to a large number of bars, restaurants and a supermarket to stock up on your travel needs.

Day 2 -Kythnos, Merichas

Kythnos is an island full of colorful flowers, sparkling blue waters, golden beaches and on the way to the port of Merichas, you can stop and explore one of the largest caves in Greece – the Katafiki Cave of Dryopida. You can also stop around the island to swim in the picturesque bays.

Overnight anchorage: Merichas is the main port on the west coast of the island. The harbor has a ferry dock and a small jetty. Although there is no jagged place for mooring inside the harbor, just outside the jetty there are arrows indicating the positions where mooring is available.

Day 3 -Syros

We are heading from Kythnos to the island of Syros. Syros is a small island full of spectacular colorful buildings and culture and is mostly off the beaten tourist track. A great place to spend the night is in Finikas, on the southwest coast of the island. This is a quiet village full of taverns, bars and cafes and is a great place to anchor as it offers good protection from the Meltemi.

Overnight Anchorage: Small harbor anchorage (limited spaces) as well as offshore anchorage outside the jetty are available.

Day 4 -Mykonos

Day four brings our Cyclades sailing itinerary to the famous island of Mykonos. White houses with blue shutters, windmills, chic taverns, plus a crystal clear sea and blue sky, this is what Mykonos corner of heaven looks like. The most glamorous island of Greece, known for its nightlife, the favorite destination of celebrities and high-profile partiers.

Day 5 -Kea

Agios Nikolaos is one of the safest naturally formed ports in the Aegean Sea area. Kea is a beautiful island full of ancient ruins, picturesque towns and cosmopolitan and friendly locals. Old churches, beaches, mills, towers and windmills fill the island with perfect locations and interesting places to discover. We suggest anchoring in Agios Nikolaos for the first night (one port northeast of the bay is Vourkari).

Day 6 -Sounion

Sounion is located at the southernmost point of mainland Greece. It was once fortified to protect the city of Athens. Sounion is home to the unique Temple of Poseidon (the Greek goddess of the sea), this picturesque cliff-top building also offers a great place to watch the sunset. Sounion is known for its historic buildings, spirit and achievements, as well as being a great place to swim and relax.

Overnight Anchorage: Sounion Bay or Legrana Bay are great places to drop anchor and spend the night.

Day 7 -Marina Alimos

Our Cyclades itinerary ends back in Athens at Alimos Marina. Alimos Marina is one of the largest harbors in Greece and is the perfect place to disembark from your sailboat and rest before starting your journey or home. The marina is located close to a large number of bars, restaurants and a supermarket to stock up before your departure.

A typical day on the boat

First of all, you should know that most of your time will be spent on the yacht, on the beaches and in spectacular bays.

In the morning, whether we wake up to admire the sunrise, take a swim in the sea, enjoy a good coffee or whatever your morning routine is, on the boat you can do anything, even sleep until lunch.

Navigation. Relax on deck or take the helm and our skippers will be with you and teach you some navigation techniques. We will sail daily for several hours to reach the next destination.

Activities, especially on hot summer days, a splash is welcome, so we’ll take breaks from sailing to cool off in the sea. Various activities can be done such as snorkeling, scuba diving or boat rides or stand up paddle.

We dock to discover a new location every day. It is the perfect opportunity to try the local gastronomy and discover the islands and their stories.

In the evening, after we reach the port, or moor in a spectacular bay, you can end the day admiring the sunset with a cold glass of your favorite drink or you can go to a tavern in the old villages, lost in time.

The next day we start over for a week, sunset after sunset, sunrise after sunrise!

Where do I stay?

Accommodation is in cabins on the yacht. The cabins are equipped with either double beds or single beds (bunk beds) and all have storage space.

In the case of catamarans, the cabins are equipped with their own bathrooms.

One of the greatest pleasures of a sailing enthusiast is sleeping on a boat. There is nothing more soothing than the sound of the sea at night!

On every type of yacht there is a central salon with a fully equipped kitchen where you can be your own chef.

Where will I eat?

Breakfast that can be served on the yacht, or at one of the many taverns on the islands.

You can prepare lunch on the yacht, at anchor, in a secluded cove, or go to a terrace, after which you will continue sailing or you can stay longer in a place to visit.

Dinner, after arriving at the port, or at the anchorage, you can go to a tavern in the old villages, lost in time, which offers the delights of the local cuisine, in an atmosphere full of history.

Is sailing far out at sea?

Is sailing far out at sea?? Answer: NO

We will enjoy the beauties of nature sailing along the coast stopping at beaches, in spectacular bays or crossing to a new island.

The route will be made so that the daily sailing duration is short, 1-3 hours.

Where do we moor at night?

We moor every time in a new place, whether it will be in a port or in a spectacular bay, the sea will be calm and during the night the movement generated by the waves of the sea will not cause us discomfort.

Will I get seasick?

There are also people who can sometimes accuse this kind of slightly unpleasant sensation that is caused by our inner ear, the main center of balance. Fortunately, there are plenty of solutions for this, so you don’t have to worry (there are dedicated pre-departure medications and little seaman’s tricks that work every time). Our skippers will be attentive to anticipate and resolve any unpleasant situation.
