This small island is located 18 NM from Volos. Trikeri Island has crystal clear waters, pine trees and is a safe bay for overnight anchorage.
This island is about 4.5 square km and cars are not allowed on the island, but the island has over 75,000 olive and citrus trees. On our Volos sailing itinerary, you can visit the bays of Pelion and the small port of Agia Kiriaki.
Located on the island of Skiathos, Koukounaries is one of the largest towns on the island of Skiathos. In Greek, Koukounaries translates to pines, for which the island is famous. Koukounaries has one of the best beaches on the island and maybe even in the whole country.
Koukounaries has just 150 year-round residents, all of whom work in the travel industry, and is a great place to visit on our itinerary.
It wouldn’t be an itinerary without visiting one of the clean, white sand beaches, Tzortzi Gialos beach. Often devoid of tourists, it is a haven for those looking to enjoy an afternoon lunch in the Greek sunshine.
There is a tavern here and guests are encouraged to relax on the beach and sunbathe. The sand consists of small, white pebbles, and the coast stays in the sun most of the day.
History lives on the island of Kira Panagia, which was given to the Athonite order of the Greek Orthodox Church by the Byzantine Emperor Nikephoros II Phokas.
The beaches here are almost completely devoid of visitors and offer a short walk to the local church where you can see some traditional architecture.
You will rest here for the night where you can enjoy the rocky cliffs around you and the stunning water. After a quick visit to the church, take a moment to admire the white beaches with a combination of sand and small stones.
Skopelos is famous for its beauty and for being the central hub of activity in the area.
It is slightly larger than Mykonos and Santorini. It also has a less touristy feel and lots of delicious places to eat. According to legend, the island was founded by the Greek god of grapes, Staphylos, and there’s a vibrant wine culture to prove it.
Skopelos has been conquered by several empires throughout its history, giving it a unique feel and some dishes worth trying.
Agia Kiriaki is located at the farthest point of the Pelion peninsula, which is on the southern side, close to Volos. This small town has a dock and promenade with a small number of restaurants and tavernas to explore and visit on the last night of your Volos sailing itinerary.
This area is hidden due to its location on the inland side of the Pelion peninsula, giving it beautiful calm waters with secluded beaches and plenty of places to relax.
The last day of our itinerary brings us back to the city and port of Volos on the mainland. Here you can do the final checks on your boat and check out after a great week.
Let’s say your flight doesn’t leave until the next day or evening. In this case, you can spend time exploring and discovering what Volos has to offer, including exploring the port area, visiting an archaeological site of Sesklo or Dimini, hiking Mount Pelion or simply relaxing on Alikes Beach.
